Gold Member Username: Wolfman1966WEST MONROE , LOUISIANA USA Post Number: 1075 Registered: Jan-06 | http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ go there and pick the closest server to you , it will tell you your upload and download speed, and I think it will show how fast it is compared to dial up, dsl, cable, t1, etc.. |

Gold Member Username: Wolfman1966WEST MONROE , LOUISIANA USA Post Number: 1078 Registered: Jan-06 | ok, try this one instead, when done, it will show how yours compares with other types of connections....makes it a little easier to understand. http://reviews.cnet.com/7004-7254_7-0.html |
Gold Member Username: Wolfman1966WEST MONROE , LOUISIANA USA Post Number: 1079 Registered: Jan-06 | the cnet one says 4425.2kbps...above a t1 connection...t1 connections are usually for businesses that use servers, and t3 is for stuff like google that is nothing but computers. |

Gold Member Username: Wolfman1966WEST MONROE , LOUISIANA USA Post Number: 1080 Registered: Jan-06 | now I got to get some sleep, but like I said, download Firefox, then use firefox to download Fasterfox. After you get fasterfox, close Firefox, then start it up again...there should be a little fox picture in the lower left corner...right click it , and click on >>options<< set the preset to Turbo-charged, then in the same window, click on fasterfox, make sure that "enable enhanced prefetching" is NOT checked, and if the page load timer is not checked, check it...it shows how long each page takes to load. click OK to shut that window, and surf away, the little timer will be down at the bottom by the little fox and will show how long each page you go to takes to load. the longest mine takes is when I post something here....it can take up to 20 seconds before it posts, but that is ecoustics servers, not my connection |

Silver Member Username: I_likes_da_bassBentonville, AR USA Post Number: 117 Registered: Jun-06 | I had downloaded IE 7 a week or so ago and heard about Firefox from Wolfman so I tried it out and it spanks IE. The file isn't that big and it loads up much faster than IE. |
Gold Member Username: Wolfman1966WEST MONROE , LOUISIANA USA Post Number: 1083 Registered: Jan-06 | yah, like the redneck says....I think it takes up less space than IE...and dont forget to download the Fasterfox extension, once you have firefox running |
