Platinum Member Username: Basshead86Steady as she goes... Post Number: 10468 Registered: Aug-05 | lil wayne is untouchable in creativity and randomness...when he tries...the other 75% of the time he is making bullsh1t with auto-tune. his mix-tapes are where he seems to reing king, with his albums mainly being guest appearances and radio hits. with the exceptions of a couple songs on each album. Big Boi from Outkast does very well and doesnt rap fast per say, but the words he strings together are very hard to say faster than he says themm with his off-time flow, which is what makes him unique in my book. listen to his verses in Ms. Jackson for instance his stop-and-go flow is hard to rap along to) also, Rick Ross impresses me every now and then, his latest being Mafia Music, very detailed song with lots of imagery when he is rhyming. figgered i would give descriptions instead of drones chiming in with their lists....boring |
Platinum Member Username: Basshead86Steady as she goes... Post Number: 10469 Registered: Aug-05 | and birdman sucks....lmao every rhyme he writes has the word "n1gga" at the end of almost every verse. LAME |
New member Username: JwbuzonowskiPost Number: 1 Registered: Dec-09 | Okay. Wayne is the best rapper to ever get on a mic. Regardless of you liking his flow or not, he works too hard for the crown. Lyrics are untouchable, and while other rappers drop an album and you don't hear from them for years, he loves the booth. Not saying a little cash would bother him, but if you ask me, paid or not he'd rap every day all day, like he already does. One last point, to everyone that talks about "underground rappers" being so cool and trying to prove a point by bringing up names that nobody can identify with. The reason those rappers are underground is cause they aren't good enough to become mainstream. It's comical you take pride in listening to a poorer quality of music that hasn't been promoted to radio quality like most of the "popular" rappers. Take your underground and bump it wherever, but when you wanna enjoy your ride, maybe try rappers that people actually listen to; there might be a reason they are well-known? |
Platinum Member Username: Basshead86Steady as she goes... Post Number: 10567 Registered: Aug-05 | i think people's allure to "underground" is that the radio and mainstream in general sound very...general. But, there are a lot of underground rappers and bands alike that have very little talent and remain that way. Those that are underground and do have talent, end up being discovered and then become mainstream, upon which they change their sound to sound more "mainstream" so that they are more accessible to the general public so that they can sell more albums for the record company. this is when the crowd that listened to them when they were dare say...original and unique... no longer listen to them and try to find someone else that is in the same place that there once regarded artist was...underground. lol |

I think Drake is going to be the new improved Lil' Wayne. Cleaner cut, easier to understand lyrics, a lot more professional appearance. |
