Saw it with both my kids today. They both loved it. It DID have a strong resemblance of Free Willy (in a sense) but they didn't care. Touching story of a dolphin caught in a crab trap that eventually results in the amputation of her tail. The story revolves around the dolphin's ability to accept and use a prosthetic tail in order to save her own life.
Based off true events means it is a very moving story. Not to mention I love Harry Connick Jr as an actor to boot.
The kids wanted the 3-D experience but I wasn't forking out the $12 per ticket expense. It didn't seem to matter at all.
Nah it didn't hold a candle to that movie. There was applause at the end though by a wide spectrum of people. I think what nails these true stories is the collection of pictures and clips of the real participants during the rolling credits at the end. It puts real faces with the actors.
Sure Hollywood over dramatizes the events in order to excite the story but that's expected.
