John's wife here: My mom (74 yrs young) really liked it. She sees all of the new movies as soon as they are released. I've learned that her opinion is a pretty good barometer of my own taste. The young girls in my office (20-30)think Craig is "HOT!". Mum & I still think no one will ever fill the pants or shoes of Sean Connery. Dunno, have to get used to the blonde thing.-LS}}
Haven't seen the new James Bond film at the cinema yet, not enough THX sound system cinemas are showing in THX so I'll wait until it comes onto region 2 DVD in 2007.

Casino Royale was fu<king awesome. my only real knock on it would be that i feel sorry for anyone who doesn't understand poker...it plays a huge role in this movie. being an avid poker player myself i enjoyed it although i was a little annoyed at how they COINCIDENTLY had the final hand with like 4 players ending up with like 2 full houses, Quads, and a winning straight flush...the odds of which are astronomical.
Yea the new james bond was great. He doesn't use as many gadgets in this one though... more hand to hand combat. Theres a great scene where he goes into cardiac arrest at the poker table because this guy poisioned him. Its a really thrilling scene. Its one of my favorite james bond movies. Probably in the top 5.
