I've been trying to find reviews and information about this lcd tv and it must be relatively new to the market since reviews are hard to find. Anyone had any experience with it or suggestions regarding whether it is worth the money or not?
Thanks

I just bought one to use as an HDTV\PC Monitor. It doesnt have a good old fashioned VGA connector, but thats going the way of the dodo it seems anyway. Youll have to get a DVI-I to VGA cable if your pc is old school, like three of mine. I think this monitor looks promising Regular Cable looks good on it. Playstation looks great. I think its worth the money.

I have an older model 26" Aquos. The picture is superb.. I noticed though that the price dropped by about 30% after 6 mo. on the market though, so if you wait a while you'll probably get a better deal.

I just purchased the GD4U which is the GA4U with the HDTV tuner (everything else is the same) when the price with rebates dropped below $1600. Only about $300-$400 more than the GA4U. I didn't think the GA4U without the HDTV tuner was worth it.
Although this Sharp model beats every other LCD TV out there in this price range in picture quality, the LCD TVs themselves still have a long way to go to match direct view TVs in the mid-price range. This set was awfully configured out of the box and the analog cable channels looked terrible. The brightness, contrast, color balance, sharpness were all out of whack as if they were set to watch just sports channels. Because of the serious limitation of the current LCD TV, there is a lot of artificial boosts and modifications.
Took me about an hour and a half with Digital Video Essential DVD to calibrate the set. Once calibrated to the best extent possible on this TV, the analog channels became acceptable and the digital/HD channels superb. The sharpness processing on the analogue channels is set too high and creates artificacts around letters and sharp edges. Turning it down to get rid of them softens and blurs the image too much.
The bottom line is that if you want to watch analog TV mostly, it is not worth it at all. Best to wait until they get better or you only watch Digital/HD content. If you want this for DVD movies, then it is a good set once properly calibrated.
For me, only the HDTV tuner makes it worth living with at this price. If you have even the basic channels in HDTV in your area, I would recommend getting the GD4U version.
The GD4U takes a Cable Card and so does not require a set top box but whether your cable operator can make the cable card work with this TV is quite a different matter. Best to avoid it for a while.
