I have the following speakers: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=296104 They supposedly accept Dolby Digital input. Now, I'm thinking about buying the following DVD/VCR Combo: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5715441180&ssPageName=ST RK:MEWA:IT Now, I'm just wondering one thing...Will I be able to use it with my speakers? I don't know much about dvd players, but these are what I need: -RF Output to TV -Dolby Digital audio output for my speakers (RCA connection) -Good sound functions for playing CDs (repeat, shuffle) Are these things that I can expect from this DVD player? Do they come standard? |

For Dolby Digital you will have to have a receiver with the dolby digital decoder built in. DVD players don't hook to the TV via an RF converter, you have to have RCA inputs. Never use the RF converter unless you have to, the resolution is worse and the audio is mono. I wouldn't expect too much as far as audio quality with those speakers, a decent pair of speakers would be at least that much. |

Right now I'm really looking to use this simply for sound (MP3 CD's) and am hoping that my speakers will work with this. Eventually, I will probably get a good TV that accepts RCA input. If I were to buy this: Would I be able to use the audio outputs to connect to my speakers? The speakers take regular RCA input. And I'm pretty sure the speakers accept dolby digital audio input. Now, would I be able to connect the speakers and use them with the DVD player, then run my RF signal from the DVD player to my tv? In this case I don't really care about picture quality. It's an old TV and isnt capable of much anyhow. |

A DVD player doesn't have an RF output, you would need an RF modulator to hook to the TV. If you were lucky you might be able to run the DVD through the VCR, probably not though because of copyguard on the DVDs. No inputs on DVD players, no use for them since they don't record. |

The speakers worked great with it, great sound. (no, I didn't need an amplifier, maybe my speakers have one built in or something). However, I guess I am going to need to go shopping for a better TV. |
