I have a Toshiba 51h83. A couple of times I have found myself turning off the satellite receiver and not the tv because once the receiver is off the screen goes totally black making the tv look like it's off. So it has been on all night before. Since no signal was being sent to the CRTs, am I at risk for burn in?

Its highly doubtful that this will cause any damage to your Plasms except for just the prolonged heat generated by the unit. Burn-in will only occur with prolonged, bright images which can literally burn the Phosphorus coating inside the xenon, gas charged pixels. Keep in mind that retailers will keep their sets on for over 12 hours a day which continuous, bright images.
