Can anyone help me out here? I've done little research on DVD players in the last 2 years as I am mostly an audio nut. I am looking to buy the best prog.scan dvd player I can get for a little bit of money. Some Sonys sell for as little as $130. Any key points I can use to measure quality other that of course viewing them? A good brand with progr. scan will do me fine? Also, I plan to upgrade to HD soon and use an Onkyo 901 with S-video to component upconversion as a receiver so I need the best connections available.
Some people in this Forum (including me) would recommend checking out Pioneer DV-565A. Not only progressive NTSC on component out, but also SACD and DVD-A compatible. There are some specific threads on the issue.
