My nice Grand Wega that I've had for about 8 months, is starting to have a new problem. I've already had the bulb and circuit board replaced. It seems that I get thin green (light blue or turquoise) vertical lines on my screen. They extend fully from side to side, and are approximately 1cm apart. Very annoying. It doesn't matter if I'm watching a DVD, or normal TV. I had this problem about 3 weeks ago and was going to call for servicing, but it was Friday night, and I couldn't call until Monday. By that time the problem had corrected itself. But now they're back. Anyone else experienced a similar problem, or know what the blazes is going on?
My Sony KF-42WE610 expereienced the same problem just yesterday. Bought it Nov 03, had a bulb changed. Now it is out of warranty for this. Scheduled Sony authorized service to check it out in a couple of days. The problem is like this: On the left bottom corner of LCD screen, there are a large block of 'snow flake' pattern, made of thin yellow lines (under white background).
Very frustrating with this TV for its 3000$ price. Adding to this frustration is the other Sony home thearter systerm I bought -- the circuit board was defect after a few months. Not going to buy sony product again in the future.

I'm about to go out and buy this 42 in projection tv. I'm a bit concerned now that I've read your post. SHould I be? If I do get it, maybe get the service plan? Thought Best Buy charges $400 for 4 years. ANy thoughts?
I am surprised bestbuy still carrying this model. My suggestion is to avoid this type of tv, especially this model. I don't trust sony any more. If you decide to go ahead buying it, an extended service is a must.

My sony LCD KF - 42WE610 just failed. New in Nov 04. Will not power up. Beautiful picture till now. Sony is not what it once was with reliable first class product. Hope I can get service and watch the Masters.
