GOODWRENCH Unregistered guest | I have a Hitachi 50" Rear Projection Model 50UX52B. The mirror shattered inside. I need to know what size the mirror was. I did a measurement from the top and bottom brackets but dont if that is the correct way to measure for the mirror. I did call hitachi and they told me they have no information on what the mirror size should if you can believe that. The measurements I came up with was 31 1/2 inches wide and 26 3/4 inches height. but Im sure Im off a little. Lastly can a single side reflection mirror work as well? Reason Im asking that is because the mirror that shattered had reflection on both sides but the back side of the mirror was all the way against the back wall of the cover. Thanks for any information anyone can give me, Believe me Ive call TV repair shops and can get no information at all. |

The surface must be much flatter than they make bedroom mirrors. 2 - it must be a front surface mirror of high quality 3 - Reflectance of the surface must be high - over 90% 4 - thickness of the glass will be very important to maintain focus at the screen 5 - If you insist on replacing it yourself you might try http://www.pgo-online.com/intlframes/spiegelset.html IMHO best thing to do tho is have it replaced by Hitachi |
