I'm in Melbourne (Forest Hill), Australia. Our LG TV has coped well with the rollout of new TV channels. One problem we are experiencing is ABC TV. We've had the problem for about 6-8 weeks When you switch the TV on, there will be up to 17 seconds of transmission, and then it rapidly falls apart, with the result the no signal warning message, on the screen. Then it will go back to normal transmission; this only happens with ABC TV. All other channels are fine. From what I understand, digital transmission transmits in packets. This problem behaviour mimics the gap between packets Now ehat is happening, if I leave it on any Channel 2 channel, after 10-15 minutes, the problem disappears; I have pefect transmission. Also, new digital TV antenna unstalled last year. Please help. My wife gets the shits real easy Any comment welcome. Thanks Ross
If you're experiencing a channel dropout on your LG HD TV, particularly with channel 2, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. **Check the Signal Source**: Ensure that your TV is set to the correct input (e.g., HDMI, antenna, cable) for the signal you're using. If you're using an antenna or cable, verify the connection.
2. **Re-scan for Channels**: Sometimes, channel information can become outdated. Go into your TVs settings and perform a channel scan to find available channels again. This can help refresh the signal and might resolve the dropout issue.
3. **Inspect the Antenna/Cable Connection**: If you're using an antenna or cable to receive the signal, check the cable connections. Loose or damaged cables can lead to signal loss.
4. **Check for Interference**: If you're using an antenna, ensure there are no objects or electronic devices causing interference with the signal.
5. **Software Update**: Make sure your LG TV's software is up-to-date. Sometimes, a software update can resolve signal or channel issues.
6. **Reset the TV**: As a last resort, perform a factory reset on your LG TV to see if it clears out any settings that might be causing the issue. Keep in mind this will erase any custom settings.
If the problem persists, it could be a signal-related issue in your area or a problem with the TV's hardware.v
The LG HD TV may experience a channel 2 dropout, which can be caused by signal interference, antenna issues, tuner problems, broadcast issues, or outdated TV firmware. To resolve the problem, check the signal strength, inspect the antenna and cables, perform an auto-tune or channel scan, reduce interference by moving electronic devices away from the TV or antenna, update the TV firmware, and test the issue with another TV or device. If the problem persists, contact your local broadcaster to check if there are known issues with channel 2 and LG customer support for additional troubleshooting or potential repairs if the tuner is at fault. If the issue persists, contact your local broadcaster to check if there are known issues with channel 2 and reach out to LG customer support for additional troubleshooting or potential repairs.
