IKS (aka Internet Card Sharing or Key Sharing A service that shares working subscription cards through an Internet server to provide free programming to satellite owners. An IKS provider communicates with a man-in-the-middle,offshore server (China, Russia, Malaysia, S. Korea, etc) to exchange packets with other IKS clients and servers. All that's required is an IKS-compatible receiver, satellite hardware and Internet access.
Currently, there's no crack to the Nagravision 3 encryption that has put tens of thousands of descramblers out of commission. For now, non-IKS units are blacked out due to an N3 swap - and there's no telling if/when this will be fixed -if ever.
Truth be told; there are only two viable options here: either pay for the satellite TV service legitimately, or opt for an IKS receiver.
