New Lamp Installed on my Samsung HLP5067WX - Still Not Working

My new lamp will try to fire for about 5-6 times, then I get the dreaded bllinking lights. The new lamp housing was very tight going in, but I cannot get closer to put the old screw back in....

Will this prevent it from working? What else is wrong?

Any other suggestions - Please help!
