Lame, apparently Samsung really dropped the ball on this one. Everything is fine and dandy on this one except DVD-Audio and SACD will only be playable through the analog RCA jack and not optical due to "piracy concerns". Why even bother is the quality of sound will just be dumbed down? I was wanting to output via optical to my receiever and to a pair of MDR-DS8000 headphones (with optical in). See here:

If this is an issue contact Samsung (not that they'll listen), but it doesn't hurt.

What Receiver decodes SACD or DVD-Audio via the digital link? I don't know of any at this point. Every one I have looked at requires the 5.1 inputs to handle SACD and DVD-A

Denon has a proprietary digital link called "DenonLink", which can be used for SACD and DVD-A. And it does have severe limitations - only 2 channel hi-res (24bit/192khz) material can be transported, and copyright-protected material is simply not allowed on any kind of digital out, hence it will be down-sampled or converted to analog anyway.

There's no standard, as far as I know, to output digital DVD-A or SACD sound, due to piracy concerns. You can't hold this against the Samsung player, as it seems that no other player does it (except, like I said, Denon, who use their own link which requires a Denon receiver with the same compatible link).
