On April 6, it was announced Dish Network Corp won Blockbuster Inc in a bankruptcy auction. This has nothing to do with Satellite TV, so one might ask : Why this move?
It is a no brainer.... The future of Pay TV distribution comes by the cyberspace superhighway (internet).
Recent statement by Charles W. Ergen ( Dish Network's Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer ) explains the main reason for this significant venture : "... it gives us ( Dish Network ) the rights Blockbuster had to stream movies over the Internet."
Erik Carlson, Chief Operations CEO, adds : "... it's a complex transition, but this big step brings us back on schedule. We'll be ready before years end."
So, (if you know how to read) besides spending on all that FTA paraphernalia, maybe it would be wise to spare some bucks for upgrading all those "slow" PCs and dumping your "clumsy" internet provider for a faster, more expensive one. ...just in case.
