What do you have coming in to the VCR? Cable, antenna, satellite?

I guess you have it hooked up right with the antenna to the in on the VCR and the TV to out. In the VCR menus there should be a channel menu where you have to set it to antenna, usually the default, then there will be an auto channel program that you will have to start and it will program the channels for you. If the new VCR is a JVC and you had the antenna connected when you plugged it in for the first time it should have programmed the channels and set the clock by itself.

I was given a RCA DVD player, no instrutions. I have a hitachi VCR, and a Rca standard TV, with antenna. 75ohm, only one cable connection on back. How can I connect all 3 so I may use them all? As of now The DVD turns on , no picture when I try to play only static. vcr audio no vidio.blue screen.

The TV only has a coax connection and no RCA jacks? Usually when a vcr has sound and no picture it needs cleaned. Need more info on how everything is hooked up.

Maybe jacks. There is a vertical oval where 2 jacks could poss. be hooked up. The coax is connected to cable ip/op. vcr o/p is conn. to the tv. the dvd is conn. through the vcr.
I did not do the orig. connections, I'm trying to figure out what he did. is ther any website that will give me a schematic?

I don't know if there are any websights or not. The DVD should be hooked to the RCA jacks since running it through the VCR may give copyguard problems. You need a video cable and an audio cable which you can probably buy together, if the TV is mono (only one audio jack) you will need a Y cable which will make the two audio jacks from the DVD player into one to connect to the TV, you can buy that at Radio Shack. Then when you want to use the DVD you have to get the TV on line or auxiliary, on some RCAs it is channel 100 or something like that. Sounds like you have the VCR hooked up right, if it is a new JVC and you can't figure out how to set the channels from the menus you can unplug it long enough for it to reset, when clock time is gone, and if you have the antenna connected when you plug it in it should set the channels and clock by itself, just leave it off while it says auto or loading until it is done.

I have TV with internal antenna sitting on TV.
1)I have RFU adapter for Nintendo64 with 3 outlets:
-plug in A/V
-antenna in - goes into VCR's TV out
-TV out - goes to TV antenna place.
2) DVD player is connected by three colors cable to TV's back

So VCR has one cable/antenna/ connected and DVD only that three colors one.
I see DVD and VCR but I cannot record TV's programms to VCR.
It worked before but I bought new VCR /same JVC/
and now I did something wrong?
Thanks

The antenna should go to the VCRs in not out, the out should connect to the TV, if it is hooked the way you say it is it is backwards. Once you get it hooked up right you still will have to go into the menus and auto program the channels, or unplug it long enough to reset, then it should program everything itself. If you still have problems and you have AIM we could use that and I can help you that way.

If the TV only has one set of RCA jacks then the VCR will have to hook to the TV with a coax cable, the DVD can't be using that since they don't have an RF converter. Do you have AIM?

How is the DVD hooked up? Did you hook audio wires and are they on the same input as the video cable?

I received a dvd as a gift yesterday. I had my tv hooked up to my vcr. If vcr was not on, tv kinda fuzzy, but bearable. I tried to hook the dvd player to the vcr, but I got nothing. The dvd player came with three cables, connected. Red ends, white ends and yellow ends. I hooked the white and yellow ends into the back of the vcr's audio and video in(s) and hooked the corresponding ends into the back of the dvd out(s). Didn't have anywhere to put the reds ones, left them loose. My tv only has one cable coming out of the back, it goes in the back of the vcr. The cable for the cablevision (out of the wall) is also plugged in the back of the vcr. Seems like there is a wire missing in the back of the dvd. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

You have to set the VCR to line. You will probably have problems running the DVD through the VCR because of copyguard on the DVDs, some VCRs will let you do it, most won't. If the DVD player says mono on one of the audio outputs connect the audio jack to that. If not you need a Y cable or you will be missing a significant portion of the audio. If you can't run through the VCR then you need an RF modulator.

I have a Sanyo ds27510 television and the cable jack is broken off. I would like to know how I can connect it to my Syphonic VCR to get my television to work.

Use the rca inputs if it has them, if not then there isn't much you can do.
