Record from TIVO?

Plug a drive into small dish receiver, fill 'er up and than move the drive to my PC or MAC? I kind of miss being able to make permanent copies of stuff, like in the old VCR days.

No way to get at the file system of the Dish box? A DVD recorder will make an OK copy, I guess, but I'd like to go all digital if possible. If it helps or hurts, I've got a Mac computer.

Just use a search engine and you should find what you need if it's SD. You'll have to remove the HDD, I don't think it can be done USB unless you unload it to an external HDD. I've seen people say it looks the same PC or DVD recorder.
