It proves nothing and should never be a symbol of knowledge or stature of any kind. It takes the wisdom of only slightly mature apes to hit a post button whether it be twice a month or 100/day. New members should not be in awe or fear of any member claiming status higher than any other based solely off member status or post count. 1. It costs nothing to post. 2. Nobody learns anything from posting, only reading. Therefore some of the smartest people here choose to keep their mouth shut. 3. There are NO awards/special privileges given to a member with high post counts. Any member claiming so has issues. 4. The secret to being a respected member is not only having an educated opinion but appreciating others'. This a public forum. We're ALL students and anyone claiming to be the professor and principle is in need of therapy. 5. To imply a member has NO knowledge based on their post count is as arrogant as assuming one with a high post count does. When you have a hostile environment many avoid posting like it's the plague. Hence you have a silent majority. Shame really. Imagine if all the great thinkers and problem solvers out there withheld their brilliance in the fear of being personally attacked by their inferior neighbors. It's crap like that which sets us back as a species and limits many potentials in millions of people. Imagine how much better of a forum, country and planet we could live in if there weren't these speed bumps that hinder so many talents inside all of us. Gives me the goosebumps. |
