Hi, i'd like to buy an lcd tv for my mother(75 yrs old), problem is it has to be as simple as possible to use. It took me forever to convince her to get digital cable and thats as far as she'll go so no HD.
I haven't kept up to date on the new technology so i'm assuming all tv's are hd? Are there some lcd's that look better with just digital or are they mostly all the same? How bad does hd look with just digital cable?
Feel free to suggest makes and models. It will be something between 32-40 inches. Sorry for my ignorance.
First off, plasma is better than LCD unless you're in a very bright room. Second, SD signals don't look very good on most HDTVs. Plasma is more forgiving when it comes to SD than LCD.
You'll have to go to 42" to go plasma.
Here's a killer deal on last year's TV: http://www.cowboom.com/store/productDetails.cfm?contentID=614518&utm_medium=Affi liate&utm_source=404255&utm_campaign=CJ
