Directv Dish Question

Bronze Member Username: Juchito97Post Number: 98 Registered: Jan-08 | my friend just move and have a HD stb with a slimline 3 LNB dish. i install dish before but never this kind, when i search online i see a lot of swith and bband converter, ect.. my question is, to just hook one stb do i need any kind of swith with this dish or just the cable straight to the stb like old style? Remember this is a HD dish and stb. i can just go to the roof and installed and figure out my self but i would like to ask first so i dont wasted my time. somebody help please. |

Platinum Member Username: NydasPost Number: 19374 Registered: Jun-06 | Your title says that is is a Direct TV Dish. Three output LNBFs of Direct TV are different from those of Dish Network. You have then gone ahead and posted details of a Dish Network DPP 1000.2 set up. A Direct TV Dish can still have a Dish Network LNBF mounted on it and that might be the case in your system. This is not ideal but will work to a great extent. Without climbing on the roof you should be able to confirm whether it is a Direct TV Dish or a Dish Network Dish. You should also be able to confirm whether it is a larger Dish. 1000 and 1000.2 dish es are slightly differnt, the 1000.2 being larger. So some kind of switch IS needed, to merge these three signals to one STB (or 2,3,4 STBs). I have pointed out the right URL for 1000.2, and I have asked him to clraify between Direct TV and Dish Network, the issue will also be between two outlets or one outlet for both 119 and 118 and why one lnb is has been shut off. You two (or the same person with two nicks,) stop interfereing when I am trying to help, and if you do not have anything to do, go and ogle at the girls at the beech. |

To get more than one DTV sat you may need to have a switch. 2. DTV 3 LNBF. To get one DN Sat (one LNB) you can connect straight. To get two DN sats you may will need a switch. You may have great difficulty. Not recommended. 3. DN LNB. To get one DNSat (one LNB) you can connect straight. To get more than one DN sat you need to have a DP34 or DP44 switch. I wish you would post some more inforamtion when you ask and when you are asked |
