hi guys .. finally Got dreambox 100 v2 .. on hand and currently plugged in.. first of all i was very surprised with unit.. the rec is too small..about the size of potrable hard drive.. remote is about half of size of other rec's... didn't like the remote... not very responsive.. i am still checking channels list ..after 5 min's at one channel is blinks for 30 sec and came back in... pic quality is good ...
i bought the unit through ebay for cheaper.. the benefit of buying dreambox is if public iks fails u can always choose private...also dreambox is been in europe or long time.. so if u guys have questions, i will try to answer and will tell u how stable it is ..
sada dreambox dont have much futures. egp stinks. u should try ilink9000plus the picture is almost high definition i got great lcd too with 240mhz processor . but i link is so fast super fast in changing channels . solid few if not any freezes 90% of channels up . i said this cuz i know u like to test many unit. and not affraid to buy them just like me .
ok after more testing.. there are lots of indo/ pak channels are missing that are up on nano2 ... channels are stable that are up... i still don't know what is wrong with remote.. have to press really hard in order to make it work...
sada i am also planning to buy dreambox, whats your recommendation? i am also able to trade my ultra and kbox and i just have to pay $100 for DB , do you think its a good deal? also where are the servers for dreambox? and how the paid option will work for DB, I am in Toronto. Thanks
Thanks for your quick response, tell me is it ok if i can get $100 for my ultra and kbox pro, because you know kbox is done and i am not planning to spend 140 on WF for ultre also, please replay on your earliest. Thanks
$ 100 is good investment to buy dreambox... for kbox pro.. there is no private support for kbox ...so lets say if something happen atleast u will get private support...
Thanks again, kindly once you complete your review of DB let us know its pros and cons, and also 2 more question how to get private support for DB, and where to find the current channel list for DB. Thanks
no vittu lots of channels are missing.. most of punjabi channels are not working..oonly b4u and few indians are working.. missing ary, geo news and lot more..+ remote sucks big time.... i thought it was my remote but every body had same problem.. u have to make it exactly towards rec in right direction in order to make it work.. u won't believe but my dad almost throwed the rec in the wall he said its piece of **** lol
I think I made the right choice by going with CNX2. So far so good. I got it the same way as you did for your DB same dealer too. I offered $155 and got accepted. He shipped it the same day and I got it the next day..
Hey sada, thanks for sharing, I guess that you know, don't expect to watch tv for free with no problems at all. You have to point the remote control to the dreambox to have it worked, sometimes I could watch tv for few hours with no problem, and sometimes channels are either down or freeze here and there.
For People saying this box is better then the other, the only good box I know is DN receiver or BEv receiver.
Just to let everybody know. The dreambox 100 private server cost is between $30-50 per month, and is said to have ALL the channels. This information is one day old. In otherwords, if you do nto have the public server, there is an alternative.
nydas thanks.. do u know the site name for private server.. thanks stinko ..as i know that nothing is stable... but with dreambox there is private server so u can have peace in minds..
SADA dream box really sucks, the remote always like that . in order to controle to remote you always have to turn the box from the back on on . it;s cheap electronic stuff. why poeple r looking for trouble and getting riped off by going to a private servers and spend money . do u think privat will get more channels ? noooooooooooo. this game was long time ago with dream box is famous in north africa and europ . long time ago my friend had it when n3 when down in europ. i link is the best at this moment take it from me. the picture quality is almost high definition with component cable .
5353 it didn't work well with my bev setup i am using bev switch and it didn't work..so i had to switch to dieqc ..other than that easy to setup.. ccc when u say dreambox sucks ? what does that mean? i know remote had problems..other than that pic quality is good , dream box is here for long time.. and i think it will stay for long time..
I also testing i-link 9000 plus. Its good looking,Remote is beyond great and awesome, very good picture qualtity and sound, very easy to setup.Up with most channels,no freezing, very fast channel changing. They need to work on software. Its scaning and epg is not good. Over all, I think its good receiver.
I think you have to treat the dreambox 100's public IKS as a sampler. Their private IKS which carried a price of $30-$50/month is reported to be excellent.
http://www.ftabins.net/showthread.php?t=15048 kashif check above list for channels.. v1 and v2 are same.. 2 is latest.. dreambox and nano2 are both stable..
Sada i got DB dm 100 v2, after initial set seems like all is down on 118, plz update me whats up rite now so that i wont play too much with the setting. Thanks
I have a question about dreambox remote..I am having hard time changing channel...let's say I am watching channel 100 and want to go to channel 595, it won't let me type in anything after 5. as soon as I type 5, it comes back to 100...it's like it's in lock mode..I can scroll channel up and down but I can't input it in..does anyone know how to fix this..I might have screwed up setting..plz advice..thanks...I have tried taking battery out and turning the receiver off as well..
I don't know this receiver but usually in the menu you can choose between channels NO: "normal" or "SID", if you select SID you will have the good channels number for DN and Bev!
it does freeze sometimes. I bought it. I did not like it. Beacuse it is not user friendly. Most of the asians channels and arabic channels are working.
