You should begin by mentioning what is the system that you are attempting to set-up.

Before you look for the instructions, get the receiver and the dongle that you want after that the setup is simple.
stay away fron Nfusion, you could use your viewsat, if i's Ultra or Ultra Lite by buying the dongle.
Check out this list for more IKS receivers and what's working now...

HOW ARE ALL THESE CONNECTED?

1. Using DSL cable or Cable network supplied connections, Wall to Internet Modem.
2. Using Ethernet cable, Modem to Router (wireless if necessary)
3. Using Ethernet cable, Router to (a) Computer, (b) dongle (Weather forecaster)
4. Weather forecaster is plugged into your Viewsat Ultra.

See 3 (b) - if distance too big or inconvenient, you can use
(a) Wireless Access point device or
(b) a pair of powerline adaptors which convert your whole house wiring to a wired network.

To make it simple:
when you buy the dongle it comes with
the grey cable: attaches the receiver to dongle.
ac adapter: to power the dongle.
black cable to hook the reciver to PC.
you will need an ethernet cable or access point router: to hook up your router to the dongle.

what is the purpose of hooking the receiver to the internet router. what is the role of the computer ( PC or laptop?) within this conection system?

Abe

You hook the receiver on the router not the computer!

You get the new keys needed from a server on Internet!

I found the following instructions :

"make sure your network cable is hooked to your internet connection, via whatever your source, direct, router, etc... ".

how do i feed the receiver with the satellite signal. what do they refer as the "network cable"?

is it the sat. signal or the internet network
