Well not only is UFC Penn vs Sanchez on, but Vitali Klitschko is defending his WBC championship tonight too. So of course it would be great if the K-Box is functioning at prime-time. Will K-Box be running the WWE TLC ppv sunday night too?
James what i am thinking off is if cnx nano 2 and other fta boxes can bring all the chnannels back why not k1plus and nfusion i think thery are making the server secure,
now i don't know if allowing one channel to allow during prime time and blocking others , will they able to make server secure,....
2ndly how many people will be crying if no news about ufc? so may be they will show ufc and put all the channels blank and work on server to make it safe..
I'm more likely to believe the message than not believe it, but just think it's odd that almost no channels are going to be working, yet they will pay for a PPV sports event.
If you put it on 455 right now it's black, but hopefully it will work tonight. It's amazing how many posts you see about UFC and how important UFC is for a lot of people and I think kbox realizes that and I do believe they will try to get it up and running in time.
Opening of all channels will be A LOT harder than opening 1 channel. The last card revision Dik sent was a CMD08 which limits the number of times a control word can be used in a given time frame on a card. Each time a IRD needs to change channels a control word is being used. For the showing of only 1 channel the CMD08 is not initiated for multiple control words.
If there is a blocker for the card they can work around it, otherwise the cost for IKS just went through the roof. IKS providers will needs a Sh@t load more cards and servers to minimize traffic request for channel changes.
This current state proves there is no true hack of the N3 encryption Otherwise we would see all IKS back upwithin a matter of hours OR better yet stand alone fixes.
if they want to they will they are making the server secure, showing ufc yesterday prove that they can broadcast all the channel if they want , they are looking for long terms solution, it is taking a time but it will benefit all of us for long time
No it does not prove they can show ALL channels if they want to ONLY 1.
If they want to show all channesl and do not have a blocker or hack of the card, they they will basically need a different card for each channel they want to show.
Dik /Bev are using part of the US Patent with revisions
Method and Device for Controlling Access to Encrypted Data
Abstract
The invention concerns a method for controlling access to encrypted data by control words (CW), said control words being received by a security module in control messages (ECM) and returned to a unit operating on (STB) the encrypted data. The method includes the following steps: receiving a first control message (ECM) comprising at least one control word (CW) and a time stamp (TS), receiving a second control message (ECM2) consecutive to the first control message (ECM1), said second message comprising at least one control word (CW) and a time stamp (TS), determining a duration corresponding to the difference between the time stamps (TS) of the two consecutive control messages (ECM1, ECM2), if said duration is less than a predefined duration (CP), incrementing an error counter (CE), and if said duration is not less than said predefined duration, decrementing said error counter (CE), returning the control word (CW) to the operating unit (STB) after a waiting time depending on the value of the error counter (CE).
It will be "Good News" (as part of this thread heading) if Kbox (or any IKS) can deliver the same level of service they provided before the last ECM. In basic terms it will mean that either they have a blocker in place on the IKS server, a blocker board on each card (there is more than 1 card running to provide the service level before the ECM) OR a hack of the card.
Even "private" card share is affected, the more people on a single sub card the quicker it will/went down.
The last card revision included code for a "counter" and this counter is what is killing IKS.
Any system that DN can devise that COMFORTABLY allows its own customers to view TV, can fairly easily be hacked for IKS. Note that I DID NOT use the phrase "card share" or similar.
lol. If Ez2CTV's "theories" were on the right track, then we would not be able to have almost all channels open on the rest of the boxes that are presently working. ( such as Sonysat, CNX-Conaxsat, Dreambox, I-link, etc. )
BTW, have you checked Knox's site lately? They're announcing their new generation K2 Prodigy box. They have some nerve....
all iks system works the same way, Brodcasting ufc last night by Kbox teams prove that if they want they can show all the channels I am 100% sure they are working on server to make it secure for long term
I'm not certain about the card blocker as far as I'm aware they haven't been able to glitch into the rom yet, but I could be wrong.
But then the question comes, why is sonysat up and running and the rest aren't?
I've always wondered about the long term of IKS systems. It appears if I was DN it would be easy to purchased a box and then put a packet analyzer as simple as wireshark and determine a lot of the information that's being passed in these packets and then check CAM ID or send down ECM specific to the packets. Maybe there's tunneling or some protection on the boxes itself, but hopefully we'll get back up and running soon.
Duhhh.... you couldn't respect them as a worthy adversary if they didn't fulfil their part of the equation by fighting back with all their knowledge & skills...
If DN wanted to shut it all down, they could in a heart-beat... The truth of the matter is the bigger FTA grows, the bigger their market share does too... In a twisted way, we're their best form of advertisement.
"we're their best form of advertisement." I said something similar 2 year ago when I said Direct is losing market share because we the testers are recommending DN.
Sometimes, people have no idea of the amount of money that is involved in certain forms of signal theft...
Latest most realistic calculations (with numbers obtained from major IKS-FTA Brands & Dealerships) suggest an approximate of 680,000 - 720,000 IKS-FTA units in use.
Just as a mere exercise, let us suppose a cost of TV programs received by each unit of only $25.00 a month.
That would represent a LOSS for the Providers of more than $17,500,000.00 (seventeen and a half million dollars) per month.
And that, my friend, is the kind of stakes we have at play here.
Think about it... If you were DN... Would you rather people "test" additional channels they would never subscribe to?... (that really doesn't cost them a penny extra)... Knowing the vast majority of FTA users maintained at least a minimum sub to their services?
Or... Would they try to shut them down & compete on a service/per/service with DTV or cable providers???
We are the best service both Bev & DN has ever had & they know it too... So expect the battle to continue... There will be a "binary" fix... Because it's in their best interest if one is released. They just want to control the circumstances & the potential profits from FTA boxes... For the most part, we are both customers & adversaries too... The difference is that we have the same (or more) intelligence & determination to succeed.
