I am interested in going into Home Theater as I've been in the Audio line for a period of time. Thinking of pleasing my eyes as well as they are actually quite jealous of my ears.
So, I need some technical advise before making a purchase.
I am thinking of getting an upscaling DVD player for my Samsung Series 4 LCD. Of course, I'll definitely be using the HDMI output from the player. However, the preamp in my HIFI only accepts RCA inputs (analog inputs) and I definitely want to hear the sweet sound from my speakers.
The player of course has Digital and Analog outputs. Does it mean that if I am using HDMI, then the Analogs will all be disabled? Or when I am using Analogs, the HDMI will be disabled?
If I connect both HDMI to the TV and RCA audio out to my HIFI preamp, will I get anything?
Is there some way that I can hook this up? Can the player only transfer Video signals through the HDMI and Audio from the RCA outputs?
