I suggest
1)download zip file instead of rar file from Kboxforum
2) Unzip that zip file using Winzip program
3) load that file onto to USB

I just uploaded new 213 file for my K1 Pro and it works like a charm! All I did was download the file to my memory stick(extract file to memory stick through winzip program). Then I inserted memory stick into KBox slot, uploaded the file, then I turned off both the receiver from the back and took out the Khub plug from the wall. Waited 2 minutes. Plugged Khub back into wall and switched receiver back on. Now tv works fine.
Make sure you upload the right file. If you have Prodigy or Heros, download the right file. And make sure you're actually uploading the right file to your receiver.

Tried it with DHCP... Nothing... Red Light...

Set up the network for Static IP... Nothing... Red Light...

It's reading in the right DHCP network settings, but just won't connect to the other side...

There is no doubt that there is a problem with Kbox and Khub discovering the right IP using DHCP. I struggled two hours today fixing this problem. I did not know about the 213, so I used 212 and had to wait and wait and wait, and play all kinds of games with two routers and two Internet accounts.
I finally got it right and hopefully my friend is till watching TV. if not, I will know tomorrow.
I should not think Port 80 would be the issue. It is too universal for anybody to mess around with.

Hi Guys,
I am getting "No Channel" when I switch on the KBOX. Is that the problem we are talking about in this thread? I uploaded 212 couple of days back and it was working great till the afternoon of Nov 14. Suddenly now I am getting this "No Channel" notice. Pls advise what could be the issue. Is the new 213 the cure?thanks

Check your internet connections. Are you working directly from a Modem/Router or are working via separate router?

Menu/configuration/network.

If you see connection OK, then you definitely need 213.
If it shows connecting after 10-15 minutes then you need 213.

Hi,

Does anyone have the same issue with Rogers Internet connection? I have Rogers for my internet.

I have followed the loading of 213 Bin to the letter. It does not ask me to power off after 10 or more min. and the HUB light stays Red.

When I check the network setting, DHCP picks up an IP address from the router and "Connection OK" message comes up. Light on the HUB turns green. At this point I press red button on the remote to save. Hub light turns red while the message show "Please wait..." after a minute or two "Connection OK" comes back on and the HUB light turn back to green again.

But it still does not work for me even thou the light remains green.

In the network setting screen it shows me version MX-210FT a1.27 When I press yellow button on the remote to download. Message displays Version 1.62 detected. Do you wan to download it? On selecting Yes ... it comes back "Fail to download" within 10 seconds of pressing YES.

Can someone please help me understand if I have network file issue or it is a hub/network issue or ISP blocking the port. BTW what port KBOX is using?

Thanks

AbuSubhan: I read with interest your detailed experience which I went through verbatim yesterday.
The Save does not work. I even had the Kbox set to Static and mimicked the exact information that I saw in my computer for the Khub connection. Still no go.
Here is what I did. AFTER it shows connection OK, I did a system restore. Then I loaded the 212 again from USB drive, did a Installation set up one sat and a scan. This brought the kbox to life!
After that I just did more scans and everything was working fine.
This is not my kbox and I am expecting to get a feed back from my friend today.

Nalin,

Thanks for reading my post. After reading your reply I was thinking may be you meant System Recovery. But before going to that avenue, I went in to options and found that mode was set to Standalone.

Turned that to Network and volah!!! the channels are back on. Silly me, I must have flipped it earlier and forgot to change it back to network.

regards,

All kbox files can be downloaded from
http://currentbins.com/ftafiles/

The file has to be unzipped and put on the USB drive. Using your USB drive you load it in when the USB drive is recognised at switch on.

gouyrav sharma: You can get a free universal unzip software here.

http://www.izarc.org/

Install the downloaded izarc file and you are set for life for unzipping practically all zipped files.

It unzips by default into a new directory in the same folder you are in and gives the new directory with the same name there.
Inside the new directory, you willl find the file with .kbx suffix.

raghuveer yadav:
You will need
1. A broadband Internet connection. Mobile broadband is not satisfactory.
2. kbox reciever.
3. khub V2 or V3(latest)
4. Ethernet cable with router or a wireless bridge or 2 powerline adaptors.
5. Most of the Indian channels are on 118.7W (anik F3) for which you WILL need a 30-33" dish and a special LNB.

http://transatelectronics.com/store/33inch-dish-w-fta-dual-lnb_P290

The service is called IKS. It is erratic - about 80% efficiency as compared to the BINs of the past which were at 95-97%. Look at this URL to study the Canadian Prices.

http://transatelectronics.com/store/receivers-kbox_CA150_121

When you buy, take a friend (not spouse) along and make sure that the dealer shows it connected to TV for software to show USB drive.

The BINs are available at
www.currentbins.com/ftafiles
Loader 1.01 is needed only if there is major problem with using USB drive. Most of the time you would download to your computer,, unzip (see post above) and put it on USB drive to use.

Best of luck.

Nfusion marginally better in terms of freeze ups and stability of IKS.
kbox definitely better in terms of number of Indo-Pakistani channels.

Wait a few days for info on Sonicview 360. They release a new BIN and channels list. It has had a lot of problems over the last 2-3 months but the latest version might alter it all.
The number of channels is better but still not satisfactory for Indo-Pakistanis.
