Bronze Member Username: MuzmuradPost Number: 20 Registered: Apr-05 | Hi guys, So i have been out of the whole DN/BEV thing for about 6 months now. I wanted to get back into it cuz you know, rogers just loves getting up my bum every month. I need some advice and help on what i should do to have my setup running again. I have the standard satellites DN gave about 6 years ago: One for 61.5, 119, and one BEV 82. All LNB's have dual output. Basically im looking for a receiver that can bring back South Asian Channels (GEOTV, ARY DIGITAL, ZEE TV, SAHARA, ATN etc. etc.), as well as PPV channels. I would also prefer a receiver that is HD. The channel's are the priority though. Also, Do I need New LNB's or a new Dish, or anything new? Im using the disecq switch that came with my Viewsat extreme. Is there anything particular I have to look for when purchasing a receiver (i.e. clones)? Thanks a bunch! |

That means you can get a Nfusion receiver or a kbox receiver with khub (the hub part is built in the nfusion and separate for kbox). Nfusion started with only bev channels, but now has many Indo-Pakistani channels of DN. Kbox has more Indo-Pakistani channels - almost all that are available from DN. Of the two, kbox is the better buy for you. If you are in Canada, I suggest you look at is another official dealer - their prices are in US dollars and I believe they ship from USA. You WILL need a USB stick. You WILL need a good broadband Internet connection. If your receiver is any distance from the Internet connections and the router, you may need a wireless bridge or two powerline adaptors. Remember that for internet connection to your receiver, a direct wired connection is best, powerline adpators are second best and wireless connection is also usually adequate. |

The combination price for these two items is about $60 from transatelectronics plus shipping. Do NOT waste time and effort over getting your 20-22" dish to get the Anik F3 (118.7W) signals and do NOT waste time over getting your LNBs to give you the 118.7W signals. |
Platinum Member Username: NydasPost Number: 16161 Registered: Jun-06 | Nfusion has a HD receiver. I don't think kbox people have one. For Indo-pakistani channels you do not need HD receiver. For the long term, you may wish to go and buy a Nfusion HD receiver. You will get some Indo-Pakistani channels (SD) and they may be sufficient for your needs. Sada is a good helper here and he will be able to advice you more on Nfusion. I believe that lately he has acquired a kbox as well and might be able to give you more insight and comparison. |

Bronze Member Username: MuzmuradPost Number: 21 Registered: Apr-05 | Thanks alot for your help Nalin. Im looking for HD mainly for sports, but more for the future. I found the following sites that were updated in JULY in terms of channel list working for the following receiver: Nfusion: Judging from that list, it seems like KBOX has the channels i need. Can anyone that owns an HD Nfusion confirm if the following channels are working on DN: 744 PTV Global 745 GEO TV 746 ARY DIG USA 747 ARY ONE WORLD 787 ZEE TV 788 TV ASIA 789 SONY ENT 790 ZEE CINEMA 791 B4U 793 SET MAX 794 AAJTAK 797 SAHARA ONE 902 GEO NEWS 903 AAG TV And any 500-series PPV. If these channels are working, then I think I will get the Nfusion HD. What do you guys think? |

Silver Member Username: PeggPost Number: 133 Registered: Aug-06 | Whiskey, no problem. Its all about sharing the good work? Muzammil, I, however, am not sure if it is a good time to invest on HD as if I am not mistaken someone here (may be Nalin or Plymouth) has mentioned that DN are planning to do some upgrade on their HD which might not be compatible with the existing HD receivers. |
Platinum Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 11057 Registered: Jan-08 | Pegg The Nfusion Nuvenio HD is MPEG-4 h.264 ready but they have to share those channels. ![]() |
Silver Member Username: PeggPost Number: 135 Registered: Aug-06 | Plymouth, Thanks. Is nfusion still making nuvenio? I thought they replaced it with nfusion hd. |
Silver Member Username: SumpPost Number: 417 Registered: Aug-09 | Plymouth, Thanks. Is nfusion still making nuvenio? I thought they replaced it with nfusion hd. Pegg, they replaced the SD nuvenio with the PHOENIX it was name change only so people would not be confused between the SD & HD nuvenio naming scheme |
Bronze Member Username: MuzmuradPost Number: 23 Registered: Apr-05 | Thanks Pegg and Whiskey! You guys here along with Sada, Plymouth, Sump, and Nalin are amazing. I have pretty much got the whole setup in minded and got cheap quotes from people locally (craigslist has some awesome classified adds). Now the problem at home is whether the $290 is justifiable for HD or not... |
Silver Member Username: SumpPost Number: 420 Registered: Aug-09 | 290 ?? maybe 390 .. you must but the extra card to go with the box |
Platinum Member Username: NydasPost Number: 16184 Registered: Jun-06 | If you get HD make sure you get 8 spk card as well. |
Silver Member Username: ArizaPost Number: 297 Registered: Feb-06 | What the heck does the internet connection for nfusion and kbox have to do with the receiver? I hope i don't need to send out too many MB per month because my internet service provider will charge me overage fee's if i go over 2gb a month in data.. I'm thinking of getting an nfusion btw.. someone get back to me.. |
