Finally PG has come back to Ecoustics!

I have been without TV ever since Atmega went down and am looking to purchase a new reciever mainly to watch sports through dishnetworks. I have 2 dishes pointed to 110 and 119. Which FTA gets me the 400's and sports packages on dish these days? I would also like ppv's and HD but its not as important as the FOX Sports net channels. Will a HD TV and a HD reciever get me channels in HD or does the dish have to be pointed some where else for HD? Thanks PG

I prefer kbox without a doubt and the reasons are long, but credit is due and nfusion has more channels. I have both and still use kbox more than nfusion, but nfusion has more adult, more channels in general and has VOD PPV movies and now they have PPV sports. So kbox really isn't winning any channels here, they are falling behind for sometime now. You mentioned HD, well nfusion is what you want also, because kbox doesn't have an hd box yet.

Everything else I think is worse though for nfusion. Worse support (nova), worse PVR, no standalone, worse video quality, stopped offering standalone...etc

The only thing I like besides more channels with nfusion is the built in Ethernet on the nfusion.

If kbox had all the channels nfusion has, then it wouldn't even be an option, but right now I can see why some people would buy an nfusion over a kbox. You could argue that any day now kbox will have these channels, but it's been awhile since they updated their channel list. There hasnt' been anything worth talking about that's been added for about a month now.

Oh the nfusion does freeze up every now and then. If kbox freezes people start to post, so as far as uptime kbox is doing better.

I can't understand why some people defend a certain box, which I'd imagine they either have close ties to a certain manufacture or defend what they have dearly.

I only try to give an honest opinion and I can compare both systems, because I have both and run both.

I have both kbox and nfusion. This link was posted before, which compares the IKS systems and even has nfusion as the better choice, but the stablity is lower than the kbox
http://currentbins.com/

If you look at that website, the difference is mostly in "Support Availability:", which nfusion has more forums and more support out there probably. kbox is still kind of new and a few years ago nobody heard of them while nfusion was going strong.

I was watching a VOD movie on nfusion two night ago......... after about 1 hour it froze for only a few minutes. I'm happy my nfusion can even get VOD, so there's no complaining, but kbox never freezes. It's a possible reason they have less channels as if there's a freeze or any problem the channels seem to be taken off the server right away. nfusion I think cares less about freezing and more about channel count.

I'm running both right now, so it's not like I have interest in one more than the other. It's amazing how there are a lot of biased opinions here, not sure if some people here are dealers for nfusion, maybe dealers for kbox, maybe work for kbox. But for people to say things that just aren't true or argue for no reason, makes you wonder what are their motives.

I don't have regret buying either FTA box, but I do regret telling some friends about 3-4 months ago to buy a nova.

After a long time, ekoneuno is also back on ecoustics. Hello everyone!.
I have the same question and hence wanted to use this thread rather than opening a new one.
In my case, I am still on the old echostar 3(61.5) and 110.
Excuse my ignorance, but which is the best receiver if I am interested in internationals (mostly hindi/indian channels) and PPV/VOD movies/sports.
Please also advise if I need to move the dish from 61.5 to another frequency if I choose one of these boxes. Thanks in advance

ekoununo lol how did u find that name..

any ways u need to move to 118.8 in order to watch indo/pak channels, most of channels are moved to 118.8 (indo /pak) u need at least 33 inch dish and special lnb

for rec
u have two options
either k1pro
or nfusion solaris/ phonix
k1pro is more stable than nfusion but nfusion has more channels (they have vod) which k1pro don't have yet,
both nfusion and k1pro are iks rec;s
if u wanna buy nfusion buy phonix model as nfusion team discontinue their nova model ,
so solaris would be next for list,
for both rec's u need
internet connection
and a router...

hi guys, please i need a professional advice. i can only point my dishes to 61.5 and 82. i am tired of waiting for n3 and i decided to buy an IkS box, i am thinking HD. i am confused between kbox and nfusion. please let me know what are my choices, and i only have one dish of 24 inches pointed at 82w, i guess i need another dish for 61.5, how big does it have to be. all i need from 61.5 are the arabic channel (art movie, lbc,... etc), any help out there?

61.5W is currently not good for you.
82W is OK for BEV and you might like to have a 82/91 combo LNB which will work.
Your other dish could have 118/119, but if your geography does not permit, you could try 77W. From what I gather, the same 119W DN channels are available from kbox on 77.
As to Arabic channels, you are again out of luck unless 77 has the 118 channels.

It can't hurt to swing your 61.5 dish around a bit and try 72.7W and 77W. You will probably get a signal.
If you have a properly installed kbox you will probably see a few channels.
If it is going to work it will work with the existing Dish and LNB pointing properly at the relevant satellite.
