They are not visible on dark backgrounds (so they are not completely dead?) I do not see any scratches or traces of impact on the screen (from kids). Any idea what about a cause and what repair may take/cost? Thanks! http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g156/vashkulat/Misc/IMG_1132.jpg |

These chips are inside the device called light engine, here you'll see how the light goes through the light engine: http://www.oerlikon.com/ecomaXL/index.php?site=OPTICS_EN_lcd_projector On this link you'll see pictures of the same problem, pictures of the light engine and pictures of the color chips to get a better idea: http://sites.google.com/site/sonylcdrptvproblems/sonyrearprojectionlcdtv-opticalblock A new light engine will resolve the issue and they cost around $300.00 to $450.00 (I looked on Google) I attached a picture of a damaged LCD color chip courtesy of Bob Scott, Good Luck IV. |
