New member Username: PerkiPost Number: 1 Registered: Jul-09 | I have a 56" Samsung DLP which is a few years old & the only Problem I have had was I needed to replace the bulb a few months ago, The problem that just started is there is a vertical line on left side of screen from top to bottom that is a grey color that you can actually see through, The picture is perfect otherwise but I have this annoying grey ghost line thats about 4" wide on the left side ?? Bronze Member Username: TvtroublesolutionSan Diego, California USA Post Number: 23 Registered: Jun-09 | Hi Ron, The problem may be the light tunnel, basically the light passes through several optical lenses which filters the light, then the light passes through a color wheel and then it reaches your DLP chip, this chip reflects the light into your TV screen, so if a optical lens collapsed this will cause a dark line or bar in your TV, example: This link shows you how the light passes through the light engine: http://www.oerlikon.com/ecomaXL/index.php?site=OPTICS_EN_dlp_rptv_light_engine This link has more on light tunnel issues: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/295015.html You'll need to replace the light tunnel to fix this problem, good luck. |
New member Username: PerkiPost Number: 2 Registered: Jul-09 | Robert Thank You so much, After going through your 2nd link I gave Samsung a call & they are sending out someone to replace the Light engine or tunnel, The only stipulation was if it is not either I would have to pay the service call, After reading all the posts I have no doubt that this is what my problem is, Again Thank You for the fast reply & Great Info !!
