The Dish signals are at 110W and 118.7/119W Your DTV dish has two main components, - the Dish which is a reflector of signals, and a LNB which concentrates the signals and sends them down the cable coming into the house. The reflector part is OK. The LNB will work as a single LNB for a Dish signal provided it is aimed right. You will have to aim it right. The Dish receiver may not like it, and that is why we suggested that as a minimum, you should get another LNB which is good for Dish signals. It will cost as little as $20. You will still need to aim it correctly for either 110W or 119W. There are Dish LNBs available for both 110 and 119. So if you are going to go to the trouble of changing the LNB and aiming again, you might as well get a Dish compatible 110/119 LNB. You will need the Dish subscription for the channels you want. These days new iDish installations aim at 72/77W. I do not want to go into details of this till you have decided what you want to do and which Dish channlels you want to subscribe to |

I have already proven this when I bought my first receiver. you can only aim the dish at 1 satellite at a time. either 110, or 119 echostar. you can buy a dish 500 with 2 LNB's and hit both satellites in 1 set-up which is your best bet.. here in california, you can get a dish 500 with 2 LNB's for about $60.00 US. not a bad investment.. |
