Plymouth: Very few people have Dishes larger than 20" Most people, when they are talking about 148W, they are talking about turning their 18-20" dish towards 148W to get those few special channels. They CAN'T get those channels from Toronto on their little Dish. Those who have a 30-33" Dish may or may not get 148W from Toronto. As you said before, a 36" Dish would get some. In theory, some 148W channels may come in in Toronto; in practice, very few Torontonians will be able to get it, without spending additional money on larger Dish.
I have a friend which can get 148W from Quebec with a 20" Bev dish.
I can get 129W with my motorized 18" Bev dish, but when the rain come, I lost many channels. Galaxy 18 is harder to get than 148W because it on lower frequency.
Toronto is on 79 degree position and Quebec is 71 degree.
It' s very difficult for a newbie to aimed a far away satellite like 148W, I can aimed easily my dish since I have these 2 motorized dish.
Not sure of freq etc. I scanned the sattelite a and receiving a few Indian channels. I am also getting couple of Arabic channels and in a few other languages etc.
Not sure of dish size it is either a 18 or 20" and not a large dish.

i have a regular size dish not sure about the size.
