Upgrading from a laptop

Hey guys it's been a couple years since I've been here and I'm trying to hook up my receiver to a laptop. I have the adapter, put in the software, it recognizes the com port and my receiver goes from boot mode, a CW600P, to displaying E026 but the bar graph on the loader doesn't do anything. I'm guessing I don't have a setting correct in my device drivers, have any suggestions?
Thanks

if you have Vista windows lot of the older cables will not work and go into device manager and make sure it is on the same port that you are using

usb to serial is the hardest thing to connect
Please follow the instructions below to set the right COM port:

Setup Instructions

STEP 1: Install the Software

First, download and install the driver for your version of Windows
Note: there are separate drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista

STEP 2: Plug-in the Hardware

Connect the USB-to-serial adapter to your PC's USB port,
and follow the on-screen instructions

STEP 3: Set the Right COM Port

Right click on MY COMPUTER then click PROPERTIES
Click HARDWARE, then DEVICE MANAGER
Double click PORTS (COM & LPT), and look for PROLIFIC USB-to-SERIAL Comm Port
Double click that to open it
Then click PORT SETTINGS, then ADVANCED
Change the COM PORT NUMBER to COM1
Then click OK
If you get a warning message, click YES
Then click OK, and close DEVICE MANAGER

Finally, restart your PC
