Personally, due to the situation with N3, I wouldn't think it's a good idea to buy any new box at the present time.

Think back in time when Blacksmith announced his new affiliate"Sonicview".
Now think in the present that his split from pansat leaves him with only sonicview..

But who owns BUZZ UNK??

Joe:

There is no N3 situation! This is a game the same boxes will work.

Did the providers give out new boxes to their subscribers just because of N3??

You are being herded toward a new gimic! Maybe a special programer that will write to all the boxes reguardless of their brandname!

Notice the new Sonicview has the old 232 connection on it instead of the new USB port for loading.

I think this is the next step in this GAME. So purchase your pre-order now as there will be a limited amount available.. I hope he dont get robbed on the way to the bank with your investment as before!!

At this stage of the game, it is not a wise move to buy a new receiver. You could have a blackout lasting 2-6 months, at the end of which we will have solutions that my require new hardware.

"You are being herded toward a new gimic! Maybe a special programer that will write to all the boxes reguardless of their brandname!"

That is the stupidest statement ever posted here! And the way you spell gives away that you are in Key Largo!

My above post was pun pointed at speed and or mandark! However it is time for a new gimmic! The same STBs will work and possibly the files will return to pre RAR, if so the market will be flooded with programers once again and the shareware files will be harder to find!

They went to rar files when every one found out how to change the expiration date!

This threw a kink into there money making ability of timed files!

As you notice the bin is not going down now just the file!!tic toc tic toc

spell check please rico

All N3 is, is that the signal is broadcasted ( streamed ) at a much denser rate alowing more data to be sent in a shorter amount of time. All the processors should be able to handel this faster ( dencer ) rate. Timing will be critical. More so than now. I'm sure our coders will brake the code and solve the timing problems.
Just my 2 cence

Now to rephrase the question>>

John could you have digital (c4fm ) confused with the n3 encryption code

Im kinda hard headed I feel as though there is no change in N2.N3.N4 just a byte change%*&#

We could ask rico or plymouth to be sure plus or minus 15 days

joeturn,
It is obvious that N3 has not been broken so stop pretending that you understand it. You are guessing and making yourself look like a fool.

Members: When there is news about N3 Oleg PhD will let us know. in the time being please take all other information "with a grain of salt".

In all these discussion one tend to forget that the manufacturers of the receivers have a vital interest in making profit. That means:
1. Make consumers buy new receivers.
2. Provide the consumers with functioning receivers using all the devious methods of getting the software inside the receivers.
3. Prevent clone manufacturers from ruining their profits.
4. Prevent Dish Network from ruining their profits.

Whatever solution that comes out, will address these concerns. Just as it is not in Dish Network's interest to allow so called piracy, it is not in the interest of the manufacturers of these receivers and the users of these receivers to let Dish dictate.

If you whiners had to buy a new receiver every 6 months you would still be WAY ahead of the game.
The basic minimum DN sub with tax costs about what a new receiver does. Everything is a bonus after that.

There is a converter that might be cheaper? The only difference is the #2 pin and the #3 pin is switched on one end.If memory serves?

Why did you not get a cable with the box?

world wide has the cable for $7.99

The shack has the converter for $10.99

http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=null%20cable&origkw=null%20cable&sr=1

The directions from Cybernaut were old but I'll bet they will still work like a charm!
