Is there a new Bin out to replace
PUFF 301 or are we looking at
the end of PUFF?

PUFF_V203(V-2) will not work

Vasil Bikov: This is a PUFF thread. We are talking about instaling a PUFF_203v2 in place of PUFF_301. It seems you are not PUFF converted or you have a genuine 2700A.
What receiver do you have and what were you using and what have you installed now?

Nalin Nyda, same thing happened to me as Vasil. I'm using 2500 converted to puff. When I installed puff 203v2 it's shown PUff then B75 for a brief second. The T.V just blank, unwatchable. I thought I download the wrong file, so I installed puff_301 back, and it work as before with freezing. I am wondering are you guys using the same version PUff 203v2 and it's working fine for pansat 2500??

Delete all channels.
Reset.
Switch off at back and on after 40 seconds.
install PUFF_203v2
Do user setup
Do Antenna setup
Do Blind scan.

Converted FLU tend to always have minor freezing or related issues. Sometimes when changing channel you will get a no signal error or a "bad or scrambled channel" error message. Sometimes it will go black or freeze and you have to wait or go up a channel and back. You may freeze when scanning for channels especially if you use a switch (SW21 or Disecq) etc. Very few if any of the converted bins I ever tried worked 100% compared to my viewsat, but I have the resistor modified FLU and it still generally works and sometimes is up when the viewsat is down? But yes the 203v2 is working presently.

"Sometimes when changing channel"
I never change channels directly. If you acquire the habit of having your favourites properly classified with about 20-30 channels in each, and use your EPG to look at what you want to change to before changing channels, you will not be skimming through channels but just changing from one channel to the desired channel.

Follow the instructions closely.
You can do it yourself. You will need straight DB9 RS232 cable. You can download the files from
PUFF link
Download and unzip into separate directory.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT WITHOUT READING INSTRUCTIONS.

"Delete all channels.
Reset."
========================
Nalin,
What you mean by "Reset". You mean
"Reset to factory default?" option?
Are you sure? It's not going to erase everything from the box including all "Boot/Puff" and other software from the box??? And return it to blank state "like I bought it" box?
Comments?

You do not erase the conversion. otherwise you are almost to factory state. There is some overlap in the channel lists in the memory when you change the BIN with channels already scanned.

Hi Nalin
If we are not doing the reset, we can not get the picture?

Because I did all the steps except the "Reset", and I was not getting the picture. The screen is blank, not even the scrambled message.

Thanks.

When you switch between the full emu BINs (201-203) and the previous type of BINs (299,300,301) there are many overlapping locations in memory for channels lists and antenna setup.
Hence you are required to do a clean start, which also includes switching off and ON to really clear up the memory.

Delete all channels, then Reset, i.e. Hit Factory Default or System Settings.
Then switch off and after 40 seconds switch on. then install BIN. Then do user setup. Then do antenna setup. Then do Blind scan. then watch TV with a cup of coffee.

PUFF_V203_FEMU came out first then we had PUFF_203_FEMU_V2 to correct some mistakes.
