Serial/ usb and vista

I bought usb-serial adapter with CD. I tried to load driver but no success and each time i get this message--"This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of Windows and PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter." Any solution? I have a Viewsat Xtreme. Thanks in advance.
