Can't record a show and play a precorded at same time

If you start to watching another show on Turner 1 and sometime while you're recording another show on Turner 2 it just freezes the recording show. If you're watching and have something scheduled to record - it won't start. I am setup with 2 feeds going to both. Nothing works. Any help is greatly appreciated
