We would like to thank everyone for all your continued patience and support! Also thank you everyone for your testing and feedback in helping us build a better box. We're not done yet, and there's much more to come.
If you have not already done so, please upgrade your older K1 Heros for the new K1 Plus that is currently being offered. By focusing our energy, we'll make sure to provide you continued support that is fast and stable. And we're also pleased to say that the new PLUS edition is working very well from end-user reports. K1 Heros support will phase out by the end of this year while K1 PLUS will continue for a long time to come.
Secondly, we are recommending everyone use STANDALONE Mode only for now, as we make upgrades to the network. We are aware of freezing and/or blacking out while using the network mode. Stable network operations are scheduled to resume by mid-December, as we are working hard now to prepare for what's next. More details and announcements to come...

A. Electronics Canada Plus Advertises on Satellite Piracy Websites
ECP is an authorized dealer of Pansat receivers located on the internet at www.ecanadaplus.com and also maintaining a storefront at 1911 Kennedy Road, Unit #104, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M1P 2L9. [Affidavit of Jerry Gee 3-4, Ex. A.]2 No small fish, ECP holds itself out as the "largest FTA distributor in Canada." [Id. 4.] Part of that accomplishment is no doubt attributable to ECP's advertising, which is found on at least two websites that target consumers using these so-called "free-to-air" or "FTA" receivers for satellite television piracy. [Id. 4, 6-8, Exs. B, D, F.] The websites, www.completefta.com and www.funwithfta.com, not only provide the piracy software for various model Pansat receivers, but host discussion forums that enable consumers to gain instruction on how to use the Pansat receiver in stealing EchoStar's programming. [Id. 7-8, Exs. E, G.] NagraStar confirmed that software files made available on these piracy websites can be used with Pansat receivers to intercept DISH Network programming. [Id. 7-8.]
B. Electronics Canada Plus Assists Consumers in Obtaining Piracy Software for Pansat Receivers
Suspecting that ECP was involved in satellite piracy, NagraStar retained a private investigation firm in Canada, King-Reed & Associates, to purchase three Pansat 250SM receivers and obtain Pansat piracy software from ECP. [Gee Aff. 9; Figueiredo Aff. 2.] The King-Reed investigator visited the ECP storefront in Toronto, Ontario last year and successfully purchased the three Pansat receivers. [Figueiredo Aff. 2.] Inside the store, the investigator asked the ECP salesperson about having the Pansat receivers programmed. [Id. 4.] The ECP salesperson, in response, provided a business card for a company called "Globsat" and directed the investigator to visit Globsat at the address listed on the card. [Id.] The investigator proceeded to Globsat as directed by ECP, located just two miles away, and had one Pansat 250SM receiver modified to receive DISH Network programming. [Id. 5-6.] It is estimated that the entire process, from entering ECP to departing Globsat with a pirate-ready Pansat receiver, took about only thirty (30) minutes. [Id. 7.] NagraStar subsequently analyzed the Pansat receiver purchased from ECP and confirmed the receiver was capable of intercepting DISH Network programming. [Gee Aff. 10, Ex. H.]
