The sales person at an electronics store told me that "s" video is old school & that RF reception is out.
He told me to disconnect the "s" video cable & change my TV input, because I no longer have to have the TV set to channel "3",(or 4)& my picture quality would be so much better.
However, he couldn't tell me how to this other than to do it through the remote control.
I have a Mitsubishi WS-65813 Large Screen TV & am trying to hook up a new DVD/VHS unit.
Does anyone know how to change this input connection via the remote control?
You have to use some kind of connection to the TV. In order of preference, HDMI, the triple components, s-video, RCAs, coax. With a combo you usually need RCAs for the VHS but can use better connections for the DVD. There should be an input or auxiliary button on the TV remote.
On this TV, you have to press the "DEVICE MENU" button on the remote to get the menu of inputs. Once there, you highlight the input you desire with the direction arrows and then press "ENTER".
