DV-563A cant load any disc

just bought a DV-563A DVD/SACD player and any disc I try to load, the unit will say "loading" followed by 'No Disc". i tried dvd and regular CD's and same thing.
I havnt done any setup, just powered it up and loaded the discs.
what can I do ?
