I know it comes with the av network cables but what are they for? It has so many connections on back why would you want this feature? Thank you for responding I just purchased this tv and would love to understand this
ashley: The "av network" cables are for controlling other external audio/video equipment you may have with the Hitachi's remote control. The TV comes with two wires, each with a mini-jack on one end and an infrared generator on the other end. The jacks go into the back of the TV into the "IR Blaster" inputs, and the other ends should be near the remote control sensors on the selected equipment.
When properly encoded (see page 22 of the owners manual), you will be able to control most of the important functions of external equipment (VCR, DVD player, receiver, cable box, etc.) with the Hitachi TV's own remote control.
This is strictly a matter of optional convenience, as the "AV Net" feature has nothing to do with the essential functions of the TV.
