Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 3255 Registered: Oct-06 | TW I was expressing my own opinion From what I gather D#N is trying this new hardware reciver using a patent 1080p Blu-ray with a brand new encryption on a brand new satellite arc available only to new custumers I'm sure they had their beta vesion trials But this is their first generation of their new counter PTA instead of swaping the new card where all it takes to read it and back engineer it So I guess they decided to implement the new encryption on a new piece of hardware This is just my guestimate BTW To those who discredit my findings As soon as they started HD Tests on 73 My dish was there first to receive it. I posted it here: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/506210.html |

I posted it here: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/506210.html King no disrespect but the testing of 73 was posted at http://dishuser.org/72list.php for the past two months NO SERVICES ON THIS SATELLITE LOCATION ARE AVAILABLE TO SUBSCRIBERS AT THIS TIME. THIS SATELLITE IS TESTING ONLY AT THIS TIME. EXPECTED LAUNCH DATE TO SUBSCRIBERS 8/20/08. Looks like they will be doing business today. |

That DN though may have started a card swap, may have decided against it. I belive that`s what King has said on couple occasions. SOMETHING ABOUT DROPPING NAGRA ALTOGETHER |
Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 3257 Registered: Oct-06 | TW I saw the announcement of N3 card swap on ch 999 by D#N VP I think it was May 15th 2008 But nothing took place twards card swap Maybe cuz it was truely cracked Dropping Nag*ra is only my guess Cuz none of this made sense to me at all This forum is great for discussions like this At this time D#N owns 50% of Nag#ra They can't fire them or terminate their contract that easy We are ignoring a vey important piece of inforamtion that wasn't available before On#demand Blu#ray 1080p is a 3 level encyption So they can still use N3 plus 2 other levels of encyption encoded in 1080p Very very expensive process to keep PTA out But who knows Maybe that's what they felt is required to stop breaching security To those of yo who bought HD FTA receivers with 8PSK modules As much as I adviced against it I do think the next usage will be Star*choice HD I don't think DC-2 as complicated as N3 And the skills of coders will get to it quick BTW If DC-II were to crack Yo can get tons of channels on a 1.2 meter C-band as well It's my next prediction And all my future scans will be on a 1.2 meter dish C-band So I do think there will be a future HD FTA usage but not for D#N Right now Anyone buys an HD FTA receiver must learn the risk that it may not be active anymore few days from now I WOULD SAY 8 MONTHS TO A YEAR All based on my personal observation White Hawk I did start to like yo As yo do post helpful info from time to time I didn't see that link before But it doesn't matter now I base all my findings on a first hand scans So focus on important stuff Leave the childish stuff when we get bored At least once a month I scan entire western hemisphere I look for anything Any clues for anything I got 6 dishes (2 DN, 2 DTV) 2 motorized 30" dishes 3 FTA receivers Next summer I'll get a 1.2 meter on a motor for C-band |

Silver Member Username: DimwittPost Number: 845 Registered: Aug-06 | king , what HD fta stb (w/8psk) did you use to scan DN HD. "As soon as they started HD Tests on 73 My dish was there first to receive it. " As no SD fta stb can receive the signal. (You claim not to own one, so i'm curious on how you received signal) |

Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 3258 Registered: Oct-06 | "What about regular FTA on star choice at some point? If ya dont mind that is." S#C is on 107W and 111W Not only S#C as DC-II But also HITS on 101W and 105W (AMC 4&18) We need DC-II for the sake of PTA to stay alive My older brother in upstae NY bought a piece-a-sh!t called VS with 8PSK $450 off e-bay He did eveything himself He didn't even ask for my opinion Didn't even like the ECM every few days, so he sold it out for same price to another victim Anyway On an old DTV 36" single LNB Instead of pointing to 61 had it pointed slightly south So when he called me for the audio with new viewable picture I thought it was PowerVu+ In any case Audio with no clear video is not Nag#ra There are many clues that I'm always after If we exchange info without disrespecting each other we can get better understanding on new developments To me that's what hobby is all about Not just FREE TV |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthQuebec city, Quebec Canada Post Number: 3384 Registered: Jan-08 | King I get 73 as 82 on some channels with sound and picture with cross line and it is Nagra. When i say picture with cross lines, that is because receiver can get over lines from HD(Horizontal lines to long for capacity of SD) but picture is there on Bev and Dn |
Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 3259 Registered: Oct-06 | I have no idea what yor talking about The difference between 1080i and 1080p is 30 frames per second It could be cuz of missing fields due to interlaced I'm not sure if that's what yo meant This is how 1080i works - 30 odd fields (half frame horizontally) - 30 even fields (half frame horizontally) - Interlaced together to lump 30 frames per second This is how 1080p works - 30 odd frames - 30 even frames - progressive scan to lump 60 frames per second Decoding 1080p is hardware Yo can upscale 1080i to 1080p using software intrepolation but not the other way around Plus 2 additional encryption besides Nag#ra can be applied if they indeed use blu-ray It's not cuz of SD There is no SD on 73 There will be no SD on 73 until they start encoding all broadcast same way From what I gather This new eastern arc is to provide: 61.5, 72.7, 77W All in HD, no SD at this time This is their way to test performance of the new HD#Turbo Also possible HD is Nag#ra and On#Demand is Blu-ray I don't know yet At this stage It's all guesses But I'm about to find out |
