Usually the most advanced is the least effecient And the least advanced is the most effecient
- First (least expensive) I have Digital cable Motorola 4200HD receiver + TIVO/DVR 4200 HD is 1080i Upscales to 1080p Excellent, Excellent Quality I get 56 HD channels free with my package My package is the tripple Pack Internet, Phone, Digital cable all for $105 per month
- Second Verizon FIOS Verizon offers same tripple pack But they charge Extra $10 to $20 for HD Verizon also use Motorola receivers Quality about the same
Both DTV and DN can't compete with Cable or Verizon for tripple pack Therefore they can be least expensive as a package
- DTV at present time has slightly more HD channels 1080i they use Samsung receivers true 1920x1080i full HD screen DTV is the most expensive package Very good quality
- DN Just as good as DTV in my opinion true 1080i Their dual tuners DVR very impressive Cost little less than DTV They do offer more often promotions than DTV
MPEG-4 8PSK is pretty much majority of HD channels on both DN and DTV quality about the same
DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE CLAIMING THEIR HD IS BETTER It's about who offers more channels and for how much?
Only the Canadian BEV got the least quality HD 720p which is first generation of HD Canadian Star Choice got all today's HD standards
Yor HDTV brand can be the difference in Quality I love my HD 42" Panasonic Plasma (Top choice) Sharp LCD is next on my scale Samsung is third Sony is great but always 25% over priced Always problems with their Audio
When my third year expiers with cable Most likely I will go with Verizon But if they extend my promotion once again I will stay with Cable Everytime I call and cancel service they offer tripple pack for $90 + HD rcvr + DVR all for $105
