The gist of it is that the Mac would not play the recorded DVD. I tried again today, using Leopard on an Intel Mac. Now, the DVD plays using the DVD player on the Mac. The volume still shows up as an empty SONATA_VOLUME, but at least it plays. I would still like to get it into a movie I can edit. I tried to save it with QuickTime Pro, and that did not work. I used VLC, which says that if it can be streamed, it can be saved. But I got nothing but error messages. Has anything changed in the past 2 years? Is there a way to get the DVD recording into my Mac so that it can be edited? By the way, the files are visible on the PC side when using boot camp. I tried copying them individually. It takes a long time, and some would not copy anyway. I then looked at these copied files from the Mac side. Most of the DVD is there. But I still can't edit them. I talked to Sony support, and they still have no clue about it. |
