Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 2920 Registered: Oct-06 | Teddy I understand yo ar happy And yo ar right the quality C-band can top any pay service As it is first genration straight from telestar First generation meaning not decoded, re-encoded and retransmitted and received once again like most satellite pay service provider Yo say yo subscribe Do they give yo a card? Do yo enter keys etc? How much do yo pay? I also know for a fact not all satellites require 10 foot dish Infact if yo live on the east coast yo can pickup more than 70% of C-band on a 1.2 meter motorized dish 1.2 meter is about 48 inch dish I'm about to start my research on C-band this summer So fasten yor seat belts My mission is to use small dish for C-band |
Silver Member Username: MuchoPost Number: 385 Registered: Dec-07 | King please |
Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 2921 Registered: Oct-06 | What yo don't know many of the analog C-band dropped out replaced by digital C-band Almost all newly replaced digital C-band require small dishes like 1 to 1.2 meter It takes a regular average person to read the foot prints and apply them So which sh!t yo don't understand so I can repeat it to yo |
Bronze Member Username: Tdti1Post Number: 52 Registered: Mar-05 | I call NPS or SRL, prices are on the site, they put the order in direct to the ACC, the ACC activates the unit ID or receiver number and in seconds the receiver has service. Again a 1.2 is a waste of time, I have a 1.1 meter Patriot here, great for ku-band, I have played with c-band, yes you can get birds that are spread out more than two degrees, or a high powered transponder on a bird spaced at 2 degrees, though once more transponders are added to the neighbouring birds this will cut you off, I can hit sats on the east with the smaller dish not all transponders but some, many who want mini buds use 6' yes it works, would I recommend it however? No. Again you must keep in mind more channels are going up, with a smaller dish the more of the sky you see, so when you are hitting 2-3 birds at once the interference will be to intense, more broadcasters will be switching to DVB-S2 H.264 feeds, the fec rate used will most probably not allow reception on a 6', like today with feeds using mpeg-2 dvb-S with a fec of 7/8 most 6' dish users are not able to pull these feeds in, or they can but it comes and goes and is basically unwatchable. So if you want to play around for fun and not for a permaint system go a head and play, if you want something that will actually work 6' would be the smallest, if you want a 2 degree compliant reflector you will need a 8.5' now if you want what I and many proffesonalls would recommend in North America, that will be good and good for the future you will need a 10' or larger, solid is best but pricey, I am not talking about a cheap stamped dish with a laughable surface accuracy like a Fortec... I mean a Patriot, DH, Andrews or Anderson among other commercial reflectors. Oh and for the DCII being hacked, there has never been proof, Motorola has followed many leads and have found nothing, keep in mind most distribution in North America uses DCII, so if it was hacked rural cable company's can hack channels and sell them at 100% profit like they did with VCII, once VCII+ and VCRS hit this was put to an end, DCII has been pretty much solid, and other than rumors about clones there has never been solid evidence, if I recall the first DSR 920's could be cloned along with some of the first Star choice receivers, they made a fix to the later boards and that solved the problem, this again is a rumor. All DCII boards have renuable security ports, basically if the DCII system is ever compromised they will be a board sent out to users that plugs into the port and killing the old system and activating the new security system. |
