Nathan, check Eutelsat W5 Foot print.

As you can see this bird's foot will not reach North or South America.

Perhaps you will be able to reason it out in more practical terms.
New York city is at 73 West. St John in New Brunswick in Canada is at 66 West.
This satellite you are interested in hovers at 70 East.
The world is round and the satellite and you are on opposite sides of it. There is no way you can catch signals from the other side of the earth with the present technology.

You are correct Nalin as far as Nathan goes.
USA and other Countries do have the Technology.
How do you think they spy on each other?
USA can send and receive signals from Mars.

Nathan, did you click the link? is this the satellite you want? if you mean W5 on 4dtv, this is AMC-18, and it is C-band only, the ku-band stuff from Galaxy-16 (X4) will terminate on June second and you will need C-band and a DSR 920, DSR 905, DSR 922 or a DSR 410 to receive this satellite, these channels are subs only from HITS.
