Need new reciever, views*t or cools*t 7000

New member Username: ThebuddyPost Number: 1 Registered: Apr-08 | I currently have a coos*at 5k but with all these rumors about it being useless now i need a new reciever. I have a sharp lcd tv w/hd capability(no atsc tuner), can i just get the vs 9k and change my dish to recieve hd signals with 119 & 110 signals??? or should i just get a cheap reciever (vs platinum, cs 7k etc..) and wait till the prices drop? |

New Software Bin Files For CS 4k-6k As Of April 07 So if your reading this and looking for fixes for those units go to that part of the forum DO NOT POST here asking about the new fixes look for them on the forums. This is largely in part due to users here and other great fta forums passing around info to contact and take a stand for support. The good news is there is new working files for them now, the bad news is this issue will still happen. Show Your Support/Thanks For the Support Ok everyone we got fixes, this is due to some users that made phone calls emails and faxes so we must now do the same to say thanks and also some of us need to buy NEW cool-sat 6100 cool-sat 7100 cool-sat 7000 or cool-sat 8100Hd for Bev. cool-sat does have power and control over if the fixes do happen and get released. So some of you need to say thanks to cool-sat for the "support" and ask for a dealer to order a NEW model from. This unit has the power of the cool-sat 4000 yet still fully supported un-questionably. Pansat 2700 Main System STB/FTA/DVB Main Processor Sti5518 Brazos 81MHz CPU Memory Flash-ROM: 2MB SDRAM: 8MB Main Processor The fact is the only reason there is not fixes or was not fixes till april 7th is because they do NOT want to keep supporting cool-sat 4000 5000 6000 users called emailed and made sure they would keep supporting it less powerful older units are still working fine. Pressure cool-sat into one of the above solutions. How Did It Get To Be Here Simple the cool-sat 4000 5000 6000 are not made at the same places as there new units and cost additional money for support related there for now that they are not selling those units they do not want to support them. One of the biggest issues is 2 year warranty which in this market is a bad idea and then a 5 years is a really bad idea. And i think they think they same as they PULLED it. The best option for this would be 30 day money back from dealers and dealers able to return broken/returned and cool-sat factory repackage tested then resold. Its a win win, and also users trust 30day money back over the warranty they pay fees on anyhow. cool-sat Needs To Offer 30 Day Money back Not warranty ! They can offer service for the units as a optional for a small fee, as they make you pay now anyhow. But most units never need any of this. Who Really Provides the Support? Provides, well Norw releases or provides all software, the bottom line is in some way the makers of cool-sat units make/control the software files fixes. cool-sat can and does have the power to control fixes. Norw is the software coding release group that does release the files. This website and no FTA forum makes the bin file fixes. to some of you this is major news in it self, but yes we do not make the files bin files nor do the other forums. The FTA forums try to provide the access to the software bin files and quickly check them along with providing support for them. Does Norw provide the bin file fixes for cool-sat receivers yes they do provide the bins but they are not 100% in control of it. Make no mistake that Norw is a good group and they do a good job but they can only do whats within there means and they cant be to blame for it always. So within a matter of layers cool-sat some how provides and has power to get the fixes. It is not really a hacker group that does it, hackers hack things because they are not and have not been done. They brake in because some one has said it cant be done not because they like the new ones better, that would be cool-sat that does not allow the fixes to be done or does not allow them to be released. Who Benefits From No 4k-6k Support? That is a great question and well Norw the "software release group" does NOT gain anything from cool-sat 4000 5000 6000 not having fixes or having fixes. The users in no way can support Norw with money donations or any type of help or benefits. In fact right now the Norwest group looks bad. Most all of the forums are being flooded with over post of users tired of about a very long time of no fixes for these units making all the fta forums look bad and making fta it self look bad. cool-sat 4000 5000 and 6000 have way way way more users then there new cool-sat models 6100-8100 that means that when cool-sat does not provide fixes for 4k-6k there is TONS AND TONS AND TONS of users NOT ABLE TO WATCH TV thanks to them. More users are down when they dont provide fixes for the old units then the brand new units. What do these people do? Lots buy other fta satellite receivers some use paid satellite or cable ALL should have over the air channels for free channels but really most end up with no way to do anything but buy a new model. A lot of these cool-sat 4k-6k users are buying cool-sat new models. So the only one that profits and gains from this is cool-sat. In other words they profit off not providing support. That's why there are not many real fixes for this issue. What To Do To Help Press For Support For These Units All fta users not just cool-sat 4k-6k are effected if cool-sat gets away with stopping the support of there most used models others will follow and viewsat pansat sonicview captiveworks and all others will be next. they must be held accountable for there products and software that effects there products on there behalf. So when the cool-sat 4k-6k are down more then 48hrs longer then cool-sat 6100-8100 Everyone should please call fax email and make sure cool-sat understands and feels how upset you are about there lack of support for there receivers and keep calling faxing and emailing until they provide SOFTWARE SUPPORT OR ONE OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS THAT WOULD FIX THIS LACK OF SUPPORT issue. Again other receivers with less power and much older then these models are and have had file fixes after fixes. When you call email and fax copy paste this full info if you wish and tell them to offer one of the options that will fix this issue. You can also let them know what option you think is best. Make sure if you do send them to a fta forum link make sure its not a membership only one that they might not have access to. When they are down 48hrs longer then there new models 6100-8100 call email and make sure you Let them feel your pain!!!
