Need help

I have a Pansat 3500 SD and am getting a snow picture. When i turn on the main power from the back, unit indicates b-80 and the numbers come on fine.

I did JTAG with no luck

In addition, i have tried using the buttons on the unit with no luck. The capacitors on the unit are not bulged and look fine.

Can ANYONE Help.

your box are working fine when you see the B-80 in the front and why you J-TAG it for it not dead??

There are likely 3 distinct types of output coming from the back of your box:

The RCA jacks L,R and Video, (yellow)
or
Channel 3/4 probably labeled TV OUT, (check 3/4 switch position matches TV channel)
or
S-VIDEO, small round connector with 4 holes.

Which one are you using?

I am using 3/4 and it is the correct setting on the unit as well as the TV.

I am NOT using the S-Video or the RJW Jacks

Try a different video output and see if problem remains. --maybe a bad cable from 3500 to TV.

Guy i think this is the video processor, bad cable or input select give a black screen without snow.
Htiek try to unplug your box for 1 hour,
for cooling the chips and reset data in this one.
Good luck

Hi everyone
Could be the tuner too, especially if it works OK when the RCA jack outputs are used...

All

I should let you know the cables are all fine....You see I have a Pansat Unit and I plug it the same way......I am trying to help a friend of their unit......All Cables , DIseq Switches are ALL Fine........I think it maybe a problem in the tuner (this is what i need the technical expertise on).
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi Samdo
Did you try the RCA outputs yet? they don't use the tuner, so they might still be OK...
By the way, I take it that everything, menus and all, is snowy, not just the TV program?

Try The two audio outs and use s-video for the video. Do not connect the video out of the RCA.
Use the Video 0 of the TV set.

HAPPY VIEWING.

By audio outs, I meant the left ant right audio out of one set.
