I use DN. but Is there a better way to set up my friends that speak spanish. They speak no English and I want to set them up with a Sonicview 4000, or 8000. Is there a better sat to point at and is it encoded? What can I do for them?

Hispasat is a way to go. Lots from Spain (RTVE), Canary Island, Miami (TV Marti), Cuba, Colombia and Argentina (Encuentro and Canal Universitario). May require a large antenna depending on where you are.

Image quality is impressive (very low compression rate on video).

I myself am learning spanish and I cannot access any bird west. The 30 degrees Hispasat 1C/1D is accessible for me. I enjoy it.

Some channels pure FTA amd Spain's RTVE require a bin of any version to unlock.

Wes, 110 and 119 have a lot o spanish channels and I know for fact that a lot of HBO and other channels offer spanish audio with a click of your remote. BTW, there are several posters on the Solo Hispanos thread that speak english might wanna look into that.

He says he does not understand Spanish - only English. Why does he not go to Lyngsat and look it all up there himself, sitting with his Spanish friends at a computer?
U don't have to help him till then.

I understand how to set up a dish. I dont know what is on the sat that are out there, so I ask. If 119 and 110 are just as good thats what I will do for them. its easy, fast, and I already know where to point the dish. Oh my friends are from mexico.

wes: Evrybody has heard your predicament "I dont know what is on the sat that are out there, so I ask. "

People have already told you to go to the lyngsat site and look at what all the sats directed towards the Americas have to offer. Then decide what you have to scan.
