Peter- you should get a calibration disk like DVE or AVia and just set it up your self.
I agree getting settings is one way to do it but the displays are not all the same as far as the colorimeter when they come out of the factory. If you dont check your white light the rest of the settings wont give the same result even if dialed to the same numbers as someone elses display.
Thanks for your help Marc, I'm not that fussy about getting the picture perfectly to 6500, etc, however I do enjoy my current Pioneer with the slighly warmer look (blue white reduced to an ivory white) which was taken from settings on a review forum.
I appreciate your comments and wonder if the different sets (within the same model #) really can be so different that you could end up too far out by using a decent set of numbers?
