Star Plus is one of the most popular channels in India. In India, there are essentially two private providers - Zee and Star, and one public one - Doordarshan. DN has been providing various channels from the Zee stable. DTV has been rebroadcasting several from the Star stable. This is the first time we are starting to get a Star Indian channel on DN. DN already has, I think, ATN and Phenx Chinese channels which are part of the Star stable. Star Plus seems to be in a testing phase on Echo 3 (61.5). I am giving the above details because in spite of the sarcasm from some people, these offerings will be growing in number over the next 12 months, and will certainly not go away simply because somebody does not like them.
